Getting started
Welcome to Skillcraft. This guide gets you from CLI install to a working repository setup in a few minutes.
1. Install the CLI
npm install -g skillcraftFor more detailed installation guidance, including prerequisites, see Installation.
2. Add Skillcraft to a project
From a git repository you want to track:
cd your-project
skillcraft enableIf both OpenCode and OpenAI Codex are installed, Skillcraft prompts you to choose one or more agents. You can also skip the prompt with explicit flags:
skillcraft enable --agent opencode
skillcraft enable --agent codex
skillcraft enable --agent opencode --agent codexYou only need to run this once per repository unless you want to add or remove agent integrations later.
3. Work towards a credential
See the Hello World credential page (opens in a new tab) for more details about this credential.
skillcraft progress track skillcraft-gg/hello-worldThen run your work through your AI coding agent so Skillcraft can capture the necessary evidence. OpenCode and OpenAI Codex are currently supported. For more about current beta capabilities and limitations, see Skillcraft Beta.
See Your first credential for the full guided walkthrough including evidence capture and progress checks.
4. Claim a credential
skillcraft claim skillcraft-gg/hello-worldYou can track the status of your claim with:
skillcraft claim status skillcraft-gg/hello-worldOnce your claim is verified, your profile will be added to the issued list for this credential:
Your credential will also appear on your profile and be issued at its own URL, for example:
From there you can verify it (opens in a new tab) and share it on LinkedIn (opens in a new tab).
